Iron-coated zinc-plated tin improves corrosion resistance and does not rust easily. This is because zinc is more ionized than iron.

Metals with greater ionization tendency tend to oxidize and rust easily, but zinc on the surface melts and corrodes before iron oxidizes, protecting the iron inside.
Therefore, zinc plates are used to prevent corrosion in metallic tanks.
However, zinc melts in water and cannot be used in drinks.
